1. Scope and responsible service
This Privacy Policy applies to mcn.geckodistribution.com and the GECKO MCN quotation, consultation and customer-support journeys available through it. GECKO MCN is responsible for deciding how personal information submitted through this website is used.
Third-party services such as WhatsApp, TikTok and Feishu have their own privacy practices. Their policies apply when you choose to use those services.
2. Information we collect
- Information you provide: name, company or project, phone or WhatsApp number, WeChat account, role, team size, product category, interest in AI video production, business need and preferred contact time.
- Estimate information: selected service mode, package, video quantity, playback level and the estimate shown to you.
- Source and device information: page, language, referrer, UTM campaign values, device category, anonymous session ID and submission time.
- First-party conversion events: page view, estimate opened or completed, form started, submission succeeded or failed, WhatsApp handoff, and whether an attributed WhatsApp message was received.
- When the official WhatsApp Business integration is active, we may receive the sender's WhatsApp identifier, public profile name, message ID, message type, timestamp, referral metadata and delivery status. The website attribution log does not store message media or record text keystroke by keystroke.
3. Why we use it
- To generate and preserve a preliminary estimate.
- To respond to your enquiry through the contact method you provide.
- To understand your product, goals and service requirements and prepare a proposal.
- To operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve the website and enquiry journey.
- To keep business records, prevent abuse, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations.
4. Consent and contact
The enquiry form requires you to confirm that GECKO MCN may use the information you provide to respond to that enquiry. Submitting the form does not automatically subscribe you to unrelated marketing.
You may withdraw consent for future contact at any time by emailing kevin.li@geckodistribution.com. Withdrawal does not invalidate processing already completed lawfully.
5. Storage and service providers
The website keeps the primary lead record in the GECKO MCN application hosted on Huawei Cloud. A copy is synchronised to the GECKO MCN Feishu Bitable workspace so authorised team members can respond and track follow-up. If Feishu is temporarily unavailable, the local record is retained and synchronisation is retried.
Hosting, infrastructure, messaging, production or professional service providers may process only the information reasonably needed to perform their service. Their systems may operate from locations in which those providers maintain infrastructure. We require reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information involved.
6. Sharing
We do not sell personal information for another party’s independent advertising. We may share relevant information with authorised GECKO MCN staff, contractors and service providers; with your authorised company representatives; or with regulators, courts and advisers where lawfully required.
7. Cookies and local storage
The website uses essential browser storage for anonymous session continuity and first-party measurement of the enquiry journey. It also offers an optional TikTok Pixel for page-view analytics. TikTok measurement is held by default and is activated only after you select Accept in the analytics cookie choices. Selecting Reject keeps TikTok measurement revoked.
The website does not send form-field values to TikTok Pixel and does not call TikTok's identify function. See the Cookie Policy for the current storage names, purpose and available controls.
8. Retention and security
We retain enquiry and project records only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, manage a customer relationship, maintain necessary business records, resolve disputes and comply with law. Records that are no longer required are deleted or de-identified through the applicable operational process.
We use access controls, server-side credentials, encrypted transport and restricted administrative access. No internet or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Your POPIA rights
Send a request to kevin.li@geckodistribution.com. We may verify your identity and may retain information where law or a legitimate record-keeping requirement permits it.
- Ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access to it.
- Request correction, updating or deletion where applicable.
- Object to or restrict certain processing and withdraw consent.
- Complain about our handling of personal information or approach the Information Regulator of South Africa.
10. Children and updates
This business service is intended for adults and company representatives. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children. We may update this Policy when the website, providers or legal requirements change; the new effective date will appear on this page.
